We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate to join our Employment Law team. The successful candidate will work on a wide range of employment law matters. You will have the opportunity to provide legal advice on various employment law issues, including terminations and workplace disputes, and drafting and reviewing contracts and policies
Tasks and responsibilities
- Orally and/or in writing, advise (international) clients with regard to Dutch employment law and HR related matters (i.e. hiring employees, employment conditions, dismissal of employees)
- Draft and review legal agreements related to Dutch employment law, such as employment contracts, staff regulations, and employee handbooks.
- Conduct compliance checks on Collective Labour Agreements (CLAs) and provide advice on implementation and conditions.
- Monitor legal developments and provide clear advice, instructions, or memos for internal and external use.
- Perform in-depth research on complex legal issues, including case law and legislation.
- Advise (international) clients, orally and in writing, on Dutch employment law matters, such as hiring, employment conditions, and dismissals.
- Provide legal support to (international) clients on employment-related matters, including reorganizations and dismissals through UWV or court proceedings.
- Represent clients in legal proceedings before Dutch courts or government agencies when necessary.
- Collaborate with Briddge’s global legal partners to advise (international) clients on foreign employment law issues, including drafting and reviewing employment-related agreements and documents.
- Offer guidance to team members and colleagues on employment law matters.
- Deliver training courses, webinars, and seminars on Dutch employment law for (international) clients and prospects, independently or in partnership with Briddge’s affiliates.
Qualifications and Skills

- Completed Master’s degree Dutch Employment Law, or completed law study Dutch Employment Law “HBO rechten” from the Dutch universities of applied science (some related work experience is a plus)
- Completed Master’s degree Dutch Employment Law, or completed law study Dutch Employment Law ( “HBO rechten”) from the Dutch universities of applied science
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation
- Excellent verbal and written skills in Dutch and English
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
*A certificate of conduct (VOG) is required for the position and a reference check is also part of the application procedure.
